Team Asset Building Story

March 9th, 2013

The Manhattan-Elwood Library took part in the Lincoln Way Family Fair that focused on team asset building. As a fun activity, we encouraged people to write one line of a story each from only looking at the previous sentence. This is their story (a few words were added and pronouns changed to help the flow – all else that follows was written as is.) Enjoy….

"A long time ago, in a library not so far away, there lived a puppy named Benni. Benni was a sweetheart. She was playing outside when a softball team arrived. They started to warm up. The stopped getting warm when they heard a knock on the door, it was the cold abominable snowman. So they opened the door and said "Hello! Would you like a cup of tea. Or would you like to jump on the bed?" The snowman answered, "yes, I would like to jump on the bed! But my mom told me I could get hurt, so I won't."… He might jump on the bed… When he jumps on the bed, he gets in trouble. "Get better everyday – clear eyes, full hearts can't lose." was his mom's advice. These thoughts were at night. He went outside in the morning and got lost. He was in the forest so he collected nuts and berries. He put them in a hat with hot sauce. He took it off the sauce and and wished for just one more hug. I want to go to the Super Bowl, but then he broke his leg – he loves skateboards. Unfortunately he doesn't own one so he danced down the street. Suddenly, a ladder dropped down from a helicopter. Raegen, a cute baby, climbed up the ladder. A bull ran into the baby, who fell down but then she climbed up a tree. She was stuck! Someone rescued her so she helped save someone else and found a llama. Then she rode it in the desert. It was very hot and she was thirsty, so she fell asleep. Then a handsome prince came. She woke up and ran away! THE END!"

Great story and thanks to all who added to it!
