Ah – the Holidays – Busy, busy, busy! Who has time to read? Audiobooks are always an option, but why not pick a quick read. I just recently finished the book The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon, which incidentally has been adapted into a play at the Oriental Theater for the Holidays. It is just over 200 pages and delves into the mind of an autistic teen. It was fascinating and I had it read in a couple of days!
Since we are on the theme of books and plays, I just started reading Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I didn’t think I would get into it since it is in play form, but it turned out that I breezed through it in no time – typical of Harry Potter books to be engrossing reads!
If you are looking for a meatier read (and we are talking 800+ pages) and have the time, Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow is an option. Yes, it too is a play, and it is a Broadway sensation! I would love to see the play. Maybe I’ll tackle the book…after the Holidays!
I didn’t plan on reading two play-related books in a row, it just happened, and I’m glad I did!
