What is the Adopt a Reading Buddy Program?
Adopt a Reading Buddy is a five-week program for children in grades K-3 that encourages a love of reading through fun activities and library visits. For $5 per child, participants adopt a stuffed animal reading buddy to join them on their reading adventures. Children will:- Visit the library and explore new books
- Attend special reading-themed events
- Complete fun reading challenges
- Earn raffle tickets for a chance to win cozy reading pillows
New this year: children can choose from adorable stuffed farm animals!
How the Program Works
All special events require advance registration. Space is limited and spots fill quickly. Families must register for each special event they wish to attend.- Registration is required for every special event
- Space is limited and sign-ups are available on a first-come, first-served basis
- $5 per child, cash only, due on Adoption Day
- Payment is required to receive a reading buddy
- One reading buddy per registered child
