Slammers – Manhattan-Elwood Public Library District

Students in grades 2-3 are participating in the Spikes Super Students Reading Challenge. This challenge is brought to you in partnership with Manhattan-Elwood Public Library District and the Joliet Slammers. Classrooms participate as a whole and at the end of the program all students receive a voucher for a free ticket to a Slammers game, discounted family tickets and food.

Spikes Meet-and-Greet

Students in grades 2-3 and their families are invited to a special meet and greet with Spikes, the Slammers mascot, and a Slammers player! Stay a enjoy some baseball related fun at the library.

Does extra reading need to happen at home? Nope. Parents, sit back and relax. All of the reading is handled at school.
When will vouchers come home? They should be distributed to students the week of May 5th.
Do I need to register for the Spikes Meet-and-Greet? Registration helps us anticipate crowds and have adequate supplies. Registration is alway recommended for library events.
