The Manhattan-Elwood Public Library is teaming up with the Manhattan Police Department to help the youth in our community learn about safety – online and in person. This event includes safety tips, conversation starters, and engaging activities. This will be a great way to open the communication with your kids about this subject!

Take 25 will take place at the library on Friday, May 25, 2012 from 3:30-4:30pm

Mark your calendars!  Come out to the library on May 5, 2012 from 2-5pm for an afternoon of pampering, shopping, and fun! This is a day for moms, daughters, grandmas, aunts, sister, and friends to come out and enjoy themselves.  We will have crafts for the younger girls, manicures and makeup for the older girls, and shopping for everyone.  Some vendors include: Avon, Mary Kay, Scentsy, Velata (Scentsy fondue), Uppercase Living, homemade crafts, and more.  This should be a wonderful day for bonding with the women!

We are taking orders for a really cool t-shirt until April 30.  The t-shirts will be $10, with an extra $1.60 charge for 2XL and 3XL sizes.  We have adult and kids sizes available.  All proceeds will be donated to our Building Fund.  Stop on by and place your order today!

Children's Department Update
An air quality assessment will be performed during the week of April 2nd to determine the source and type of recurring air quality issues in the Children's Department. We hope to have the results back during the week of April 9th. The Department will remain closed to the public until the problems have been resolved. If there is something that you need, staff will be available to retrieve the items for you. Thank you for your patience during this challenging time.
