Students in grades 2-3 are participating in the Spikes Super Students Reading Challenge. This challenge is brought to you in partnership with Manhattan-Elwood Public Library District and the Joliet Slammers. Classrooms participate as a whole and at the end of the program all students receive a voucher for a free ticket to a Slammers game, discounted family tickets and food.

Spikes Meet-and-Greet
Students in grades 2-3 and their families are invited to a special meet and greet with Spikes, the Slammers mascot, and a Slammers player! Stay a enjoy some baseball related fun at the library.

- Does extra reading need to happen at home? Nope. Parents, sit back and relax. All of the reading is handled at school.
- When will vouchers come home? They should be distributed to students the week of May 5th.
- Do I need to register for the Spikes Meet-and-Greet? Registration helps us anticipate crowds and have adequate supplies. Registration is alway recommended for library events.
