Delays in Acquiring New Materials

Due to the sudden and unexpected closure of Baker & Taylor, one of our primary vendors for books and media, we are currently experiencing delays in acquiring new materials. This disruption has impacted libraries across the country, and we are actively working to find alternative solutions to resume regular ordering as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition.

Changes to the eRead Illinois Platform

We’ve also been informed that the Boundless app, which hosts the eRead Illinois digital collection, will be discontinued earlier than anticipated. This change is directly related to the closure of Baker & Taylor. While transitions of this scale typically take months, the team behind eRead Illinois is working swiftly to minimize any interruptions to your access.

In the coming weeks, the entire eRead Illinois collection will be migrated to a new, sustainable platform: the Palace Project app. This new app will continue to provide access to your favorite eBooks and audiobooks with improved stability and long-term support.
